Join us for a traditional fox hunt, without the traditional dress requirements!
Sept 26th at 8 am. Riders should be mounted by 7:45. Email the hunt secretary if you would like to join!
Fall Hunter Pace | October 10th
ENGLISH OR WESTERN TACK & GAITED HORSES WELCOME!
Bring your team or let us help you match with one! Ride through our well maintained trails at the pace of your choosing and compete against others for the best pace.
PACE DIVISIONS
- Blue Bird: Leisurely pace
- Check, Cast Run: Moderate pace
- Tally-Ho: Off you go!
Riders may begin their ride between 9 - 10:30 am
After the ride, lunch & ribbons will be awarded for the top 3 teams in each division.
Opening Hunt | October 24th
Riders should be mounted by 8 am. Hounds will cast at 9.
Join us for our 83rd Annual Opening Hunt!
- 8:00 am: All riders mounted & Stirrup Cup
- 8:30 am: Blessing of the Hounds
- 9:00 am: Cast!
We’ll have a Tally Ho wagon available for those interested in watching the hunt without being in the saddle! Complimentary snacks and drinks will be available on the wagon.
Trainer Program
Once approved, local trainers will have the opportunity to bring their clients as guests to experience our beloved sport firsthand!

Fairly Hunted Student Program
Calling all students! Discover the thrill of fox hunting with Shakerag Hounds at a special prorated cost just for students. Learn riding, navigation and hunting techniques from seasoned experts. Join our passionate & welcoming community and immerse yourself in the rich tradition and excitement of the chase.
- Must be a current student in middle, high school or college.
- Seasoned riders or beginners are welcome, we have fields for all skill levels!
